Graduation Project Art and Technology hub in aswan

Abstract:

The Nubian community often endures color ,language and cultural discrimination ,a feeling of being perceived as 'other'. The project is a call for reconciliation towards breaking the boundaries between local Nubians and the world , providing them with the tools, techniques, new functions and spaces to create their own school of art which has the ability to compete with the international art schools by using the technological platform as a base for producing futuristic arts and through the hybridization of traditional crafts. The concept has its impact on form ,program, zoning ,plan , landscape design and interior design ; creating a unique experience inside and outside the building in harmony with the nature and the landscape and creating a sense of identity in the outdoor and indoor spaces in response to the Nubian culture and identity.

Form Generation Principles:

-Conceptual  I  THE WALLS

.represents the broken boundaries that break, link and direct.
.Break masses ,creating continuity of spaces between inside and outside.
.Linking between masses ,zones and outdoor spaces.
.Directing masses to the main views and outdoor spaces. And directing people to the main entrances  and outdoor spaces (which are related to the zones
functions).

-Contextual   I   Identity of Form and Spaces

.Human scale: Fragmentation of the architectural block to be suitable for human scale and using multiple grids to create volumes and slabs (traces of the geometry or the boundaries) in the indoor open space that allows the interaction between labs , workshops and the experimental exhibition areas.
.Details abstraction: The skin is inspired by The zigzag shape that refers to the waves of the Nile which they considered to be associated with life and prosperity.
.Some axis were directed  towards Philae entrance ,  Aswan reservoir and Aswan High Dam.
.The Form is in harmony with the nature and the landscape , reflecting how the Nubian culture is based on the Nile.

The Educational zone and the Library
Breaking down the boundaries between art ,technology , production and presentation through an interactive approach to creating and displaying
interactive art.
Living laboratories are experimental exhibition area that extends the labs and the studios into the public context (the exhibition) and shows the artwork at different stages from early prototype to end product; the exhibition will be a laboratory in its experiments and the public is invited to participate.
The laboratory in which the audience participates will remain unrealised as long as the
audience remain clients rather than partners and as long as research focuses primary on objects and artists rather than audience experience.
The hybridization of crafts workshops extends into the outdoor gallerys and the main public path ,providing a familiar atmosphere for Nubian people.

Drug Addiction Treatment Center
In recent years, many national and international institutions have raised the alarm for increasing social problems among young people associated with crime, drugs, alcohol, and social discrimination in Albania. Civil rights, economic, social, and cultural and youth policy priority should be protected from any individual, family and institution, because we are dealing not only with human beings generally unprotected, but today’s level of their development physical and mental, will determine our tomorrow. The national strategy raises some clear objectives and goals concerning the improvement of conditions and environments associated directly or indirectly with their learning and cultural formation, with the level of information, the development of healthy, with entertainment and promotion of aptitudes and talents of young people.
Drug Addiction Treatment Center 01
The drug treatment center it is needed for psychosocial treatment, counseling, and rehabilitation. Psychosocial support, family assistance, training courses, training, information and assistance for resolving emergency situations.

The problem

Healing through Architecture

Architecture is the art that defines space and time, being used and created by man. To understand its implications it is extremely important to study the relationship between man and space, how one influences the other. Both are complementary, each having a direct relation to the other: man defines the spaces he lives in and space in turn defines the man’s activities. That is how architecture serves the man and it creates a space for his body and for his mind.
Drug Addiction Treatment Center 03
The body is the center of space, and with it we use our senses to contemplate, touch, hear, and perceive the world around us and give to the building its human scale. But has the architect always used the human as his focus when designing a building? Did he actually create spaces for human wellbeing, or just for aesthetics or practicality?
Drug Addiction Treatment Center section
This thesis stresses the importance of the built environment on our wellbeing and health, and tries to show, starting from a concrete example, that space has got the capacity to push the mind to promote health or illness, cure or cause.. It debates this theory, by bringing forward arguments and ideas that can eventually make us think seriously about the implication of the quality of the spaces that define our life.
Drug Addiction Treatment Center plan
Space can touch us, not literally but metaphysically, it can drag emotions from us and bring back memories, or it can just release certain emotions in the moment of occupation, such as a sense of scale, or a feeling of safety or unease. Moreover, it can influence our mood through various factors like colour, light and shape.
Drug Addiction Treatment Center concept idea
There hasn’t been much research into this topic, even though the roots of metaphysical healing go back into antiquity, through theories about the power of the Gods and energies, which were implemented into the monumental buildings built for meditation and recovery. Architecture has always been approached from a rational point of view, as something palpable, something that is created only for the physical purpose of giving shelter. The hypothesis of his essay, is that behind the creation of architecture lies a more profound subject, one that is capable of generating emotions and feelings that have a major impact on our mood and by implication on our health.

The latest images show a bit more compacted version of MAD’s original design, with more parts, of the museum’s program, moved to the ground floor. They, also, reveal other facilities which will be included in the 5-storey building, apart from the museum’s exhibition spaces, like offices, educational zones with classrooms, a library, a restaurant, a café, a museum shop, and a rooftop garden for the public. Finally, there is the new addition of cove-like space with a waterfall in the park surrounding the museum.

Agricultural Expo Center
The team of tvsdesign and Shanghai Hecheng (上海合城) Architectural Design Ltd.(Cospace) has won the competition for the design of the Zhumadian International EXPO Center, located in Zhumadian, a city known for its agricultural industry, in the Henan Province of China. The competition sought out convention center designs that could not only serve as a location to hold agricultural conventions and trade fairs but could also connect back to the city’s historic roots in order to expand the area as a rendezvous of agriculture.

Agricultural Expo Center China
> Drawing from the fact that Zhumadian is specifically known for supplying China with sesame seeds, the proposal utilizes the imagery of the seed in its shape—with rounded triangular forms—as well as in its overarching concept: “as an epicenter of activity in the agricultural industry, the convention center represents origins, life, growth, and health for the region and the people who visit the building" described the architects.

Furthermore, the facility is oriented about a north-south axis with a design that visualizes the three elements critical to the agricultural process—earth, heaven, and people.
The new Center will be located along the western edge of an upcoming commercial development to the west of the central city, and will be the first of three cultural buildings to arise within the agricultural park area.
